Lets Go!

Weekly challenges to get outside into nature.

It seems like every week there is a new study coming out that highlights how being outside is good for our kids in every way. Good for us too. Of course, we enjoy the backyard sometimes. By sometimes, I mean all day long, most days. But there are times ya just want to mix it up a bit. Plus, our back yard is tiny! So I’ve decided to do weekly nature challenges. To be honest, they are more for me and my kids than they are for you. But I figured I’d share them because, well, why not?

Dear outside. Dear beautiful outside.
Blue sky, blue river, green grass, green trees, sand, rocks, fresh air, cold water, hidden animals… I’m looking forward to adventures that both calm (the crazy) and excite (the thinking minds).

Sometimes all you need to reset your day is water, sand, sea and sun. In other words, maybe you should just go jump in a lake.

The colors green and blue are said to be perhaps the most calming colors.  In a stressed out world, how convenient that the most calming colors surround us, if only we can get ourselves outside.

“Grounding,” standing barefoot on the ground, is actually good for you.  Just being outside, with your shoes off and your feet in the grass, dirt or sand… It’s healthy.  Way easier than not eating ice cream for dinner.
